The Moto X has modified several times since it launched in 2013. The original Moto X was a compact mid-range marvel, but the second generation transformed in to a metal-framed 5.2in flagship. Moto X Play is actually one of two new Moto X handset arriving this year. The jumbo Moto X style, which has the features like 5.7in, 2,560x,1440 resolution display, a faster Snapdragon 808 processor and few more camera features, including phase detect auto focus, a dual color harmonize flash and 4k video capture. The Moto X play is not due to launch in UK until the next month.
Design and Storage
Moto X play is quite decent upgrade for £90. It does not mean that the Moto X play is any less of great handset. While not the slimmest of phones, measuring 8.9mm at its thinnest point and curving out to 10.9mm, the Moto X play is very comfortable to hold thanks to its flexible rear panel. The rounded edges can be a tad slippy at times, but I was easily able to grasp it in one hand and reach across to other side of the screen. Unlike the 3rd generation Moto G, the Moto X play is not completely water proof. Instead, it’s merely water resistant, so it will survive the odd splash.
Ironically, it’s the Moto X play which has the more flexible design and its removable back cover help us to customize it with as many different colored inlays. Admittedly, a rubber back is never going to match up to the styles real leather wood panel textures, but it does not mean you can always change the color later on if you get tired of the one you bought originally.
It has range of colors to choose from using Motorola’s Maker service, and you can even customize the color of the metallic accent that run down the back around the camera. The price starts from the £280, which is only £10 more than the standard black or white model available from other retailers.
Performance and Battery Life
Moto X is not as fast as its older model but still its octa-core, 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor is not very lazy. This processor along with 2 GB of Ram and Android version 5.1.1 makes the phone run beautifully with least amount of loading time. Its price is a bit less than its competitors but this increase in price is well covered up by lightening fast speed.
It has some performance issues when it comes to internet browsing. If you are scrolling down a web page, it might look a bit sluggish and you may have to face a bit difficulty in bringing the page down.Graphics of this handset are upto the mark. Motorola X allows you to play any sort of game. All the games would run smoothly and with excellent graphics.
Battery time of this cell phone is too good. It can easily last for 13 hours with a continuous video playback. Readmore
